📍 Local Knowledge

The Barge in North Florida is an exposed beach break offering fairly consistent surf throughout the year. It works best with offshore winds from the west and benefits from a swell direction coming from the east. Both windswells and groundswells contribute to the wave action here. Despite its reliability, it remains rarely crowded, providing a more laid-back surfing experience. However, surfers should stay alert for man-made hazards like buoys and occasional localism. The most favorable conditions typically occur in summer, especially in July, when clean, rideable waves are most common.
