📍 Local Knowledge

St George Island in Gulf Coast, Florida is an exposed beach break that only works occasionally, with the best conditions typically during hurricane season. The surf is mainly driven by local windswells, with the ideal wave direction from the south-southeast and offshore winds from the north-northwest. The break is surfable at all tide stages and rarely crowded. Surfers should be cautious of sharks. The most consistent clean waves are usually found in winter, particularly in April.
