πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Shepard Park is a sandy beach-break located at the eastern end of the Cocoa Beach Causeway, offering public shoreline access and full park facilities. Surf is generally smallβ€”typically knee to thigh highβ€”but the waves can clean up nicely in the morning hours when winds are lighter. East to northeast swells tend to produce the best rideable lines, while lower to mid tides often yield the most shape. The surf is mellow and gentle, making it ideal for beginners, skim-boarders, and longboarders. It's a relatively quiet surf spot with fewer crowds than the nearby pier, though pay-to-park logistics and occasional rip currents are the main considerations.
