📍 Local Knowledge

Sand Key Jetty in Alabama is an exposed beach and jetty break that favors offshore winds from the east-northeast and swells from the northwest. Due to limited fetch, the surf is almost exclusively wind-driven, and the break tends to produce right-hand waves. It is surfable at all tide stages, and while not always busy, it can draw a crowd when conditions align. Winter, particularly January, offers the most consistent clean waves. Surfers should be cautious of rocks and submerged obstacles.
