📍 Local Knowledge

Reef Road in South Florida is a fairly exposed beach and reef break that usually has waves. The best conditions occur during winter when offshore winds from the west combine with north-northeast windswells and groundswells to produce ideal waves. The break offers left-hand beach breaks as well as a left-hand reef break. Best surf is found around low tide when the tide is rising. It can sometimes get crowded, and surfers should be cautious of sharks and rocks. The most consistent clean surf is typically in winter, with January being the prime month.
