The Pumphouse on Singer Island is a rare and challenging surf spot, known for its powerful, hollow waves that break over a shallow sand and rock bottom. Due to its challenging conditions, this spot is best suited for advanced surfers. It typically works only a few days a year, with the optimal conditions occurring when a northeast swell combines with offshore winds from the west or southwest. The best time to surf here is at low to mid tide. When it's working, the spot can get crowded with locals and professional surfers, and hazards include strong currents, rocks, and the potential for sharks.
