📍 Local Knowledge

Perkins is a sandy sandbar-break located in Satellite Beach just south of Patrick Space Force Base, with access via SPRA Park. Winter, especially January, usually delivers the most reliable surf when east swells meet light offshore winds from the west. The spot works best on east to northeast swells, handling both groundswells and windswells. Waves are typically mellow and rideable, suited to intermediates and longboarders, though crowds can gather when conditions improve. Hazards include shifting sandbars, occasional submerged rocks, and rip currents.
