📍 Local Knowledge

Painter's Hill in North Florida is an exposed sandbar break offering reasonably consistent surf throughout the year. It works best with offshore winds from the west-southwest and thrives on east-facing groundswells. The spot is known for its solitude, rarely drawing crowds even when conditions are good. Hazards include rips and undertow, so caution is advised. The best surf occurs when an east swell meets offshore winds from the west-southwest. Winter is the most consistent season for clean waves, with March being the standout month.
