π Local Knowledge
New Smyrna Inlet in North Florida is a fairly exposed beach and jetty break known for its very consistent surf, working year-round. It thrives on southeast swells and performs best with offshore winds from the southwest. The break favors lefts and is most reliable around high tide. As one of the most popular spots in the region, itβs often crowded when conditions are good. Hazards include strong rips, jellyfish, pollution, and frequent shark sightings. Winter, especially February, tends to deliver the cleanest and most dependable waves.
