📍 Local Knowledge

Jacksonville Beach Pier is an exposed beach- and pier-break featuring a sandy bottom shaped by nearby jetties. It performs best in spring, especially March, when northeast groundswells combine with offshore winds from the southwest to deliver cleaner, rideable peaks. The surf tends to work best around high tide, particularly on the rising tide, and the break favors lefts. While the pier encourages crowds when surf is firing, its multiple peaks help spread surfers across the lineup. Strong currents and obstacles near the structure present occasional hazards.
