๐Ÿ“ Local Knowledge

Haulover in South Florida is a quite exposed beach, pier, and jetty break with inconsistent surf and no strong seasonal pattern, though winterโ€”especially Januaryโ€”can offer the most consistent clean waves. It works best with a north-northeast swell and offshore winds from the west, receiving a balanced mix of windswells and groundswells. The spot offers both left and right-handers and is best surfed around low tide when the tide is rising. When conditions align, it can get crowded. Hazards include rips, obstacles, localism, pollution, and sharks.
