📍 Local Knowledge

Hangar’s Beach is a sandy beach-break just south of Cocoa Beach, with easy roadside parking and fewer crowds than more central spots. Winter—especially November through March—tends to offer the most reliable surf, while early offshore swells add fun waves in transitional seasons. East to northeast swell directions work best, particularly when paired with light west to southwest winds to clean the conditions. Mid to incoming tides usually provide the most rideable shape. The waves are typically small to moderate and mellow, ideal for beginners and longboarders, with shifting sandbars and occasional rip currents as the main hazards.
