📍 Local Knowledge

Fernandina Beach Pier in North Florida is an exposed beach/Pier break with fairly consistent surf that can work year-round. It works best with offshore winds from the west and mostly receives groundswells with an ideal swell direction from the northeast. The break offers both left and right-hand waves and provides good surf at all tide stages. It can get sometimes crowded, and surfers should be cautious of sharks, jellyfish, and rips. Optimal conditions occur when a northeast swell combines with west offshore winds, with the best consistent clean waves typically found in winter, especially in January.
