📍 Local Knowledge

Crescent Beach is an average, sand-bottom beach-break located just south of St. Augustine, marking the last surf zone before the sharkier stretch near Matanzas Inlet. It works best during fall and winter, particularly in December, when northeast groundswells align with offshore winds for cleaner waves. The best conditions appear around mid to high tide, producing modest, rideable peaks suited for beginners through intermediate surfers. While access is convenient, lines tend to spread well across the shoreline. Surfers should stay alert for shifting sandbars and rip currents, especially during wind-driven swells.
