πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Bethune Beach in North Florida is an exposed beach break that doesn’t work often, with summer typically bringing long flat spells. When it does turn on, the best conditions occur with east-northeast swells paired with offshore winds from the southwest. The break offers both lefts and rights and works best around high tide. Though not a consistently surfable spot, it can still draw a crowd when conditions align. Hazards include strong rips and occasional shark encounters. July tends to be the most favorable month for catching a clean wave here.
