La Zurriola or Playa de Gros in Pais Vasco is an exposed beach break that is often working and remains active throughout the year. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves fueled by an equal measure of local windswells and distant groundswells; while it offers some shelter from northeast winds and works best with a southeast wind, visitors should be prepared for crowds and potential pollution when the surf is up. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with Southeast offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
