πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Rio Sierpe Rivermouth is an exposed rivermouth beach break in Golfo Dulce that only breaks occasionally but offers long, fast, and hollow tubes when it's on, featuring both left and right-hand waves. The most favorable conditions are a Southwest (SW) groundswell with offshore winds from the East. The break works best on the incoming tide, with mid to high tides being preferred. The bottom is sandy. The spot is generally uncrowded but surfers should be aware of strong rips and undertow as well as crocodiles and sharks due to the rivermouth location. Access is only possible by boat from the town of Sierpe. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically during the May – November), when the larger SW swells are most consistent.
