📍 Local Knowledge

Playa Santa Teresa is an exposed beach break in Golfo de Nicoya that usually has waves and can be surfed year-round, offering both left and right-hand breaks. The most favorable conditions are a west-northwest groundswell with offshore winds from the northeast. The break works best around low tide. When the surf is on, it can get crowded, and surfers should be aware of strong rips. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in January.
