πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Playa Naranjo in Guanacaste is an exposed beach break that has consistent surf and can work year-round, with offshore winds from the northeast, clean groundswells prevailing, and the ideal swell direction from the southwest. Waves at the beach break both left and right, and while it very rarely gets crowded, hazards include rocks, sharks, sea crocodiles, and sea-lice. The best conditions reported for surf here occur when a southwest swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the northeast, with the most consistent clean waves during summer and most often in July.
