Playa Jaco is a fairly exposed beach break in Golfo de Nicoya that offers quite reliable left and right-hand waves. The most favorable conditions are a south-southwest groundswell with offshore winds from the northeast. The break works best around high tide. The spot is unlikely to be crowded, even when the surf is on, but surfers should be aware of sea-lice etc. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in July.
