Playa Hermosa South is an exposed beach break that offers powerful, consistent surf when swells are favorable. It works best with offshore winds from the northeast and strong groundswells from the south to southwest. The most favorable conditions occur when a clean southwest swell combines with light offshore northeast winds. The break provides both left and right-hand waves and can draw significant crowds during quality surf days. Surfers should be cautious of strong rips, shifting sandbars, and heavy shorebreaks.
