π Local Knowledge
Olgas (Playa Nosara) is an exposed point break in Guanacaste that offers fairly consistent surf. It works best with offshore winds from the north and groundswells from the west-northwest, performing best around high tide. The most favorable conditions occur when a west-northwest swell combines with offshore winds from the east-northeast. The spot is rarely crowded, but surfers should be cautious of rocks. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during the winter months, particularly in January.
