π Local Knowledge
Marbella is an exposed beach and reef break in Guanacaste that consistently produces waves. It works best with offshore winds from the east-northeast and groundswells from the southwest. The most favorable conditions occur when a southwest swell combines with offshore winds from the east-northeast. The spot offers both left and right-hand beach and reef breaks and is rarely crowded, even during good swells. Surfers should be cautious of rips and rocks. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during the winter months, particularly in July.
