La-China is a fairly exposed breakwater break in Golfo de Nicoya that only works occasionally, favoring left-hand waves and also featuring a left-hand point break. The most favorable conditions are a south-southwest groundswell with offshore winds from the northeast. The spot is rarely crowded, but surfers should be aware of rips and pollution. The best time for consistent, clean waves is typically in July.
