πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Guiones (Playa Nosara) is an exposed beach break in Guanacaste known for its consistent surf. It works best with offshore winds from the east-northeast and clean groundswells from the west-northwest. The most favorable conditions occur when a west-northwest swell combines with offshore winds from the east-northeast. The beach offers both left and right-hand waves with good surf at all tide stages. It can get crowded when the surf is up, and surfers should be cautious of sharks. The best time for consistent, clean waves is during the winter months, particularly in January.
