πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Flamingo Point or Playa Flamingo in Guanacaste is an exposed point break that only works occasionally, with ideal offshore winds from the east and swells from the south-southwest. The wave is a left-hand reef break that offers clean rides when it’s on, though it can be unpredictable. Thanks to its location, it’s never crowded, but surfers should watch out for rips and rocks. The best surf is reported when a south-southwest swell combines with offshore east winds, most consistently during the summer months, especially in July.
