📍 Local Knowledge

Sierra de Irta in Valencia is an exposed reef break that has inconsistent surf, with summer in particular tending to be flat. The best conditions occur when an East-northeast short-period windswell combines with an offshore wind direction from the Northwest. There is no shelter from cross-shore breezes here, and despite its classification, there is no actual reef break at this spot. The waves are surfable at all stages of the tide and it is rarely crowded, though visitors should take care of hazards including rips and rocks.
