📍 Local Knowledge

Montgo di Bongo in Valencia is an exposed reef break with unreliable waves, especially flat during summer. Offshore winds from the west provide the best conditions, with some shelter from north winds. Surf here mostly comes from local windswells, though groundswells can occur, with the ideal swell direction from the east-southeast. There is no reef break, and the waves can be good at all tide stages. The spot is rarely crowded, but surfers should be cautious of hazards including urchins, rips, rocks, man-made dangers like buoys, and local surfers. The best conditions happen when an east-southeast swell combines with offshore winds from the west.
