Calita in Valencia is an exposed beach break with inconsistent surf, especially flat during summer. It mainly receives east-southeast windswells and works best with offshore winds from the north, although there is no shelter from cross-shore breezes. The bottom is sand with submerged rocks, which create hazards despite there being no reef break. Surf quality is generally not tide-dependent. When conditions align, Calita can get crowded. The best month to surf Calita is September, when east-southeast swells and favorable northerly winds are more likely.
