Torre Bank in Catalunia is an exposed sandbar break that has quite consistent surf, although summer tends to be mostly flat. The best conditions occur when a south-southeast windswell—which is much more typical here than groundswell—combines with an offshore wind direction from the north. The sandbar break specifically favors left-handers and provides good surf at all stages of the tide. It can sometimes get crowded, occasionally to the point of being dangerous, so surfers should exercise caution in the lineup.
