S'agaro is a relatively sheltered beach break that requires a significant swell to wrap into the bay, meaning it only works once in a while. Winter is the most reliable season for surfing here, while the summer months are almost perpetually flat. It performs best when a strong east or southeast swell combines with offshore winds from the west or northwest. Most of the waves arrive in the form of local windswells, producing both left and right-handers that are generally best suited for longboards or higher-volume boards. The surf is rideable at all stages of the tide, though it often provides the best shape around a rising high tide. While it is rarely crowded due to its inconsistency, the lineup can become busy when the conditions align. Surfers should exercise caution and stay alert for hazards such as submerged rocks near the headlands and occasional strong rips. The best conditions reported for surf at S'agaro occur when an East-southeast swell combines with an offshore wind direction from the West-northwest.
