📍 Local Knowledge

Miami Platja in Catalunia is an exposed beach break that has unreliable waves, with the summer months in particular tending to be flat. The best conditions occur when an east-southeast windswell—which is much more typical here than groundswell—combines with an offshore wind direction from the west-northwest. There is no shelter from cross-shore breezes at this location, but the beach breaks offer both lefts and rights that are surfable at all stages of the tide. It can sometimes get crowded, and surfers should take care to avoid buoys in the water.
