📍 Local Knowledge

La Rotonda in Catalunia is an exposed beach break that offers reasonably consistent surf, although the summer months tend to be mostly flat. The best conditions occur when a southeast windswell—the primary source of surf here—combines with an offshore wind direction from the northwest. There is no shelter from cross-shore breezes, but the beach provides both left and right-hand waves that are surfable at all stages of the tide. It is often crowded when working, and surfers should be vigilant regarding hazards such as urchins, pollution, and man-made dangers like buoys.
