📍 Local Knowledge

Garraf in Catalunia is an exposed beach break that offers relatively consistent surf, though the summer months typically remain flat. The best conditions occur when an east-southeast windswell—as the fetch is too short for groundswells to develop—combines with an offshore wind direction from the west-northwest. The beach break provides both left and right-hand waves that are surfable at all stages of the tide, though there is no shelter here from cross-shore breezes. It is rarely crowded, even on good days, but surfers should be mindful of hazards including rips and rocks.
