Bogatell in Catalunia is an exposed beach break that only works when conditions are just right, with the summer months in particular tending to be flat. The best conditions occur when an east-southeast swell—usually local windswell, though groundswells do occasionally occur—combines with an offshore wind direction from the northwest. The beach break offers both left and right-hand waves that are surfable at all stages of the tide. It is unlikely to be too crowded even when the surf is up, but surfers should watch out for various obstacles in the water.
