πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Patiti Point in South Canterbury is an exposed reef and point break with very consistent surf that works year-round. The best surf occurs with an east-southeast swell and offshore winds from the west-northwest, typically during winterβ€”most often in Julyβ€”when clean, rideable waves are most reliable. Most of the surf comes from groundswells, with a left-breaking reef that is surfable at all stages of the tide. The spot is very rarely crowded, but surfers should still exercise caution around exposed reef and rocky sections.
