📍 Local Knowledge

Playa de Robayera in Cantabria is an exposed river break that offers pretty consistent surf, although it tends to be mostly flat during the summer months. This spot primarily produces left-breaking waves from an equal measure of local windswells and distant groundswells; while it is best surfed around low tide, visitors should be mindful that it is likely to be crowded when working, and overcrowding can reach hazardous levels. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with South-southeast offshore winds, with December being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
