📍 Local Knowledge

Playa de Merón in Cantabria is an exposed beach break that offers fairly consistent surf, although it tends to be mostly flat during the summer months. This spot provides both left and right-hand waves from an equal measure of windswells and groundswells; while it is unlikely to be crowded even when there are waves, visitors should be aware that even light onshore winds can quickly ruin the surf quality. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with Southeast offshore winds, with October being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
