Islares in Cantabria is a fairly exposed beach break that offers fairly consistent surf, although it tends to be mostly flat during the summer months. This spot primarily favors right-handers from a mix of groundswells and windswells; while it is best surfed around mid-tide and is only sometimes crowded, visitors should be mindful of submerged rocks and currents. The best conditions occur when a Northwest swell combines with South offshore winds, with December being the prime month for consistent, clean waves.
