📍 Local Knowledge

Playa Bastián (Costa Teguise, Lanzarote) is a quite exposed reef break that does not work very often, with the summer months in particular tending to be flat. The spot receives a mix of groundswells and windswells, reaching peak performance around a high tide window when a northeast swell angle combines with offshore winds blowing from the northwest. The location benefits from some natural shelter from north winds, but when it is working, the lineup can sometimes get crowded. Forecasters and surfers should note that the primary localized hazard is the presence of rocks scattered throughout the lineup.
