Outside Reef (Lanzarote) is an exposed bombora break that performs best during the winter months. The spot relies primarily on groundswells over windswells, reaching peak form when a north swell angle aligns with offshore winds blowing from the south. While winter is the premier season for surfing here, the month of October historically offers the most consistent windows for clean, rideable waves. Because of the heavy nature of the break, forecasters and surfers must note that shallow rocks present a major localized hazard.
