📍 Local Knowledge

Guacimeta - Playa Honda (Lanzarote) is a sheltered reef break that does not work very often, with the summer months in particular tending to be flat. The spot relies primarily on windswells over groundswells, reaching peak performance when an east northeast wave direction aligns with offshore winds blowing from the northwest. Because the location offers no natural shelter from cross-shore breezes, it remains highly sensitive to wind shifts. When a rare quality session does line up, the break can sometimes get crowded, requiring surfers and forecasters to watch out for the primary localized hazard of rocks in the lineup.
