📍 Local Knowledge

Venice Beach Pier in Los Angeles County is an exposed sandbar break with the best surfing conditions in winter. It works best with offshore winds from the northeast and receives mostly groundswells coming from the southwest. The waves break well at all tide stages, though when the surf is up, crowds are likely. The ideal surf conditions happen when a southwest swell coincides with offshore northeast winds. December is typically the best month for consistent clean waves at Venice Pier during the winter season.
