Tajiguas in Santa Barbara is a quite exposed beach and reef break known for reliable surf, especially during Spring, with the best conditions occurring when a Southwest swell meets offshore winds from the north. It receives both groundswells and windswells equally, favoring a swell from the southwest, and offers both left and right-hand waves around mid tide. The spot is rarely crowded, providing a quieter surfing experience. Surfers should be cautious of hazards such as rocks, rips, and sharks. The prime season for consistent clean waves is Summer, particularly in September.
