๐Ÿ“ Local Knowledge

Super Tubes in Ventura County is a fairly exposed reef break known for its powerful, high-quality waves when conditions align. It works best when a west swell meets offshore winds from the north-northwest, with clean groundswells being the dominant energy source. The break can produce hollow, fast wavesโ€”especially during solid winter swellsโ€”making it a favorite for more experienced surfers. However, when it's firing, it tends to draw a crowd. Hazards include sharp rocks, localism, pollution (particularly after rain), and the occasional shark. The best and most consistent conditions typically occur during winter, with January being the standout month.
