📍 Local Knowledge

Stanley’s in Ventura County is an exposed beach break offering fast and occasionally hollow rights over shallow sandbars—best conditions typically arrive in late winter and early spring. Offshore winds from the northeast clean up short- to mid-period southern swells, producing sharp, wedging rights that peel quickly across the bar. The spot works best at low to mid tide and remains relatively uncrowded due to its inconsistent swell window and limited exposure. Surfers should watch out for shallow takeoffs, shifting sandbars, and occasional backwash from nearby structures. The most consistent clean waves occur during winter—especially February and March—with bonus sessions possible in May during early south swell events.
