πŸ“ Local Knowledge

Spooners Cove in San Luis Obispo is an exposed reef and point break known for its reliable winter surf. It works best with northwest groundswells and offshore winds from the southeast. The point break offers a peeling left-hand wave and is most consistent around mid tide. While it’s a fairly popular spot that can draw crowds, it also comes with hazards such as rips, rocks, localism, and sharks. The best conditions are typically found in January, making it a solid winter destination for experienced surfers.
