📍 Local Knowledge

Seaside Reef in San Diego County is an exposed reef break with unreliable waves, best surfed in winter, especially in January. The most favorable conditions occur when west swells align with offshore winds from the east. The break features a left-hand reef and works best around mid tide when the tide is falling. It can get crowded when conditions are right, and surfers should be cautious of rocks.
