📍 Local Knowledge

Seaside Creek in Mendocino County is an exposed beach break that only works when conditions align perfectly. It favors clean groundswells from the west and offshore winds from the east, with the best waves typically breaking around mid tide. Although summer can bring favorable conditions, the most consistent clean surf usually occurs in winter, particularly in January. The break offers both left and right-handers and can become busy when the surf is up. Hazards include rip currents, rocks, sharks, and localism.
