📍 Local Knowledge

Scott Creek-Beach in Santa Cruz is an exposed beach and reef break with fairly consistent surf, best during summer. It works well with offshore winds from the east and swells coming from the west-southwest. The break offers both left and right hand waves, surfable at all tide stages, and rarely gets crowded. Hazards include rips, sharks, and rocks. The best conditions occur when a west-southwest swell aligns with offshore winds from the east. Consistent clean waves are most common in winter, particularly in January.
